Here are two photos of Ashtabula Harbor Port in north eastern Ohio on Lake Erie.  It was a spectacular day.  This is a busy port but not as large as the ports at Cleveland, Buffalo or Detroit  The lower photo looks inland.  The land in Ohio around the lake is wooded where it has not been tilled and is gently rolling hills.  It looks to be fairly good farm land (though not as good as Iowa.)
